Dear Editor,
Imagine a village where there isn’t enough food to supply the peasants from its own gardens. To supplement their needs the people buy supplemental food from another village bartering away their other resources.
When they petition their leaders to use more of the village land to increase their food supply, they are told that doing so will not solve the problem. Instead, they are advised to go on diets and spend one day a week fasting.
It sounds like felony-stupid solution, doesn’t it?
Now substitute “oil” for “food” and ask yourself if stupid goes away.
Replace “leaders” with “Congress” to see where stupid resides.
It has been said that politicians and babies’ diapers should be changed regularly; and for the same reason.
