Tribute to the Trees -- The Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra’s 18th annual Tribute to the Trees fund-raising event held at Dunsmuir City Park Botanical Gardens. Gala dinner and auction -- Stable Hands Therapeutic Riding Program’s annual Gala Dinner and Auction evening under the starts fundraiser event begins at 5 p.m. at the Edson Foulke Ranch in Gazelle. Raymond Zanni Catering of McCloud will serve a full sit-down dinner with a selection of fine wines at 6 p.m.. • Fair -- The Siskiyou Golden Fair “Mountain Fair With Country Flair” takes place Wednesday through Sunday, Aug. 6-10 at the fairgrounds in Yreka. Parking is free.

Thursday is McDonald’s Kids Day, all children age 12 and under are admitted free; and  features the Clay Walker and Steve Holy concert.

Saturday features the pro rodeo. Sunday features the Destruction Derby.
