Betty Jolene Zanetti was born October 2, 1934 in Olton, Texas and passed away August 18, 2008. She was truly loved by all who knew her and she will be missed.
Jolene moved to Mount Shasta in 1943 and graduated from Mount Shasta High School in the class of 1953. During high school, Jolene worked at Windsor’s Drug Store. Jolene married Richard Zanetti in May of 1954.
Jolene was a homemaker and an avid collector of unique and beautiful things. She was very knowledgeable of antiques and was the owner of James Place Antiques for 15 years with her husband.
Jolene was an elegant lady with many talents and acquired several achievements in her life. One of her greatest loves was to restore and paint early American carousel horses.
Jolene is survived by her husband Richard of 54 years; daughters Diane (Rick) Rooney, Cindy (David) Manning, Linda (Tom) Murphy; mother Anna Jo Hines; brother Gene (Pat) Hines; sister Marylin (Jerry) Harrington; grandchildren Jennifer, Christie (Josh), Dave (Laney), Amanda (Jimmy), Peter, Kevin, Jeff, Jeremy and Sara; great-grandchildren Max, Lillian, Gavin and Skyler and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Leon Hines; granddaughter Stacey Vanni; nephew Jason Melo.
Jolene struggled many years with kidney disease.
One of her greatest wishes was that people in Siskiyou County would send letters of support for a kidney dialysis center at Mercy Hospital in Mount Shasta. This is something so critical for Siskiyou County.

Funeral services were held at Hope Community Church, 974 Lassen Lane, Mount Shasta, Saturday, August 23 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Paul Aiello officiating.
