Howard Walter Schedel went home on December 3, 2008. Howard was born on March 2, 1934 in Lebanon, South Dakota to Rosie and Paul Aldrich.
Upon the death of his parents, he was adopted by August and Marie Schedel. He attended schools in Lebanon, South Dakota, Waukesha and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
He served in the Army Medical Corps as an emergency room technician.
Howard worked as maintenance supervisor for the Mount Shasta Union School District in Mount Shasta California, retiring after 20 years, and moved back to Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Howard retired to Ocala, Florida, returning to spend the summers at Blackhawk Campground at Milton, Wisconsin.
Howard is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Joy) of Ocala, Florida; daughter, Carol Schedel of Beachwood, New Jersey; daughter, Marjorie Kurzawa (Hans) of Lewistown, Montana; son, Robert Hogeland Sr. (Kathleen) of Waukesha, Wisconsin; and son, Joseph Hogeland Sr. of Ocala Florida.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Schedel of Tallahassee, Florida and Pearl Morehead of Gettysburg, South Dakota; brother-in-law, Robert J. Kennedy Sr. (Dot) of Lebanon Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Marie Schedel; sisters, Mildred Eberle, Lucille Hatch and Iris Sprague; brothers, Lloyd Aldrich, Keith Aldrich, Kenneth Aldrich and Donald Weagley. Two babies died in infancy.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is probably driving his John Deere Tractor and mowing the lawns of Heaven.
