COS’ Watts breaks another record in win
Crissy Watts broke another school record - most consecutive made free throws in a season - in the College of the Siskiyous 77-67 win over Feather River on Saturday.
Watts’ 22 broke the old record of 20, set by Kristen DeBortoli in 1991.
She scored 23 points in the game with eight rebounds and three assists to lead four players in double figures.
Feather River liked to go inside but had trouble with Leah Swain waiting to block almost anything that came her way. She finished with eight blocks, 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Amber Franko snuck up behind the Golden Eagles by having 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
COS led by seven a the half, then used fast breaks and inside dominance to go up by 22 with nine minutes left.
Jennifer Whipple finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
“It was another one of those games where everything worked for us,” head coach Tom Powers said.
They play this Wednesday against conference rival Shasta College at home.
