A young Weed High School softball team is gaining experience early this spring with the help of co-head coaches Jeff and Rob Moser and assistant coach Burt Ford, who works with the pitchers. The Cougars opened their Shasta Cascade League season against a more experienced Burney team this past Friday at Bel Air Park. “We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us,” said Jeff Moser, “but we expect good things.” Weed was scheduled to play twice this week, including another SCL doubleheader at Bel Air Park against Trinity on Friday, March 27, beginning at 2 p.m.
