John Donald Haupt, a resident of Mount Shasta, passed away at his home on August 21, 2009, following a short battle with cancer. He was 79.
John was born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania on September 4, 1929 to Donald Haupt and Cartia Broscious. He moved to Siskiyou County from Lompoc, California in 1980.
John was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean Conflict.
He worked as a prison supervisor for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. John enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Clarion “Jane” Haupt of Mount Shasta; a son, Ray (and Pat) Haupt of Etna; a daughter, Cindy (and Mark) Rogers of Mount Shasta; his twin sister, Geraldine Adams of Sunbury, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held this Saturday, August 29, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Mount Shasta with Pastor Stan Terry officiating.
