Vernon Emory Kazee, a resident of Weed, passed away at his home on September 18, 2009, following a short illness. He was 81.
Vernon was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on August 15, 1928. He moved to Siskiyou County from Arizona in 1967.
Vernon was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II. He worked as a diesel truck mechanic for 60 years.
Vernon was formerly a race car driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Kazee of Weed; two sons, Dale Kazee and Cyrus Kazee, both of Weed; two daughters, Gloria Jaurigue of Coos Bay, Oregon and Wendy Campbell of Bremerton, Washington; and five grandchildren.
At Vernon’s request, no services will be held.
