Victor Edwin Czarnowsky (Vic) a resident of Peoria, Arizona passed away on September 6, 2009. He was 91 years old. He was a former resident of Weed and Mount Shasta.
Vic was born on March 10, 1918 in Morris County, Kansas, to William H. and Maria Sophia Charlotta (Brockmeier) Czarnowsky. He grew up with one brother William (Bill), and three sisters Laura, Selma, and Evelyn.
He was employed by Long-Bell Division of International Paper Company for 43 years and retired in 1980. He served in various sales and executive management positions, including serving as area manager for the Weed operations between 1973 and 1977.
He served in the Army Air Force in India during World War II. In retirement, Vic became fascinated with studying the origins of the universe and became an expert in the workings of time and space.
He married Glenna Shanabarger in 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri. She preceded him in death in 1998.
He is survived by his sisters, Selma Steele of Salina, Kansas and Evelyn Rindt of Fredonia, Kansas; daughter, Cynthia Roelofs, son-in-law Kenneth Roelofs of Eugene, Oregon; daughter, Victoria Tsao, son-in-law David Tsao; David’s mother, Nancy Cheng of Scottsdale, Arizona; and grandchildren, Erica Blair, Steven Roelofs, Andrew Tsao and Kaitlyn Tsao.
A memorial service was held at the Forum in Peoria on September 8, and a burial was held at City View Cemetery in Salem, Oregon on September 12.
