Sanae McCoy, a resident of Mount Shasta, passed away on December 18, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta. She was 74 years old.
Sanae was born in Tokyo, Japan on January 15, 1935. She moved to Siskiyou County 31 years ago.
Sanae met James McCoy in Yokosuka, Japan, who was working as an engineer on the Tillamook, an ocean going tug for the US Navy.
Sanae was a homemaker, a loving mother, and a hard worker. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking and flower gardening.
Survivors include her husband, James B. McCoy of Mount Shasta; two sons, John Thomas McCoy of Mount Shasta and Joel Hannan McCoy of Turlock; two daughters, Shinobu McCoy of Washington and Sarah Lynn Costea of Idaho; eight grandchildren; two close nephews, Juni Toyama and Tsutomu Toyama and niece Nanami Toyama, all of Japan.
A memorial service will be held this Monday, December 28 at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Mount Shasta with Pastor Gary Van De Walker and Paster Jim Crabtree officiating.
Visitation will take place at the time of the service. Burial is at Mt. Shasta Memorial Park.
