Mount Shasta High School’s boys basketball team returned to action in a big way Tuesday night, defeating visiting Tulelake, 69-27.
The Bears led by 11 after one quarter, by 20 after two quarters and by 35 after three quarters.
Senior Erik Thelander led the way with 24 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. He made 8 of his 9 field goal attempts (3 for 3 from three-point range) and 5 of 6 free throw attempts.
Andrew Campbell and Mark Maumasi had 6 rebounds each. Maumasi added 5 assists and 5 steals.
Gene Kenyon and Shane Freeman scored 8 points each, Jake Padula 7 and Brad Thomas 7.
Tim Jaegel had 5 points and 4 assists.
The Bears improved to 7-5 for the season. They’re scheduled to play next at Fall River in their league opener on Jan. 5.
