Claude B. “Piny” McLain, a resident of Mount Shasta and Lake Shastina, passed away on January 19, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta. He was 76 years old.
Claude was born in Mena, Arkansas on January 8, 1934. He moved to Siskiyou County 68 years ago.
Claude was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War.
He worked as a planner and millwright for International Paper Company and Louisiana Pacific. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Weed.
Survivors include his wife, Doris E. McLain of Lake Shastina; stepson, Sam (and Kim) Kessler of Mount Shasta; and five grandchildren, Karla, Nic, Janie, Lynn and Daniel. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Frank Kessler.
A memorial service was held on January 26 at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Weed with Pastor Keith Chilson officiating. Burial was at Winema Cemetery in Weed.
Arrangements were made by Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel.
