Lawrence Edward Thunborg, a resident of Mount Shasta, passed away at his home on July 21, 2010. He was 76 years old.

Lawrence was born in Dunsmuir, California on June 18, 1934. He was a lifelong resident of Siskiyou County.

Lawrence was a veteran of the US Army. He was a law enforcement officer for the US Foreset Service before his retirement.

He was a member of the Dunsmuir Fire Department, Dunsmuir Rod and Gun Club, and the National Rifle Association. Lawrence enjoyed guns and country line dancing.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Thunborg of Mount Shasta; three sons, Paul Thunborg of Mount Shasta, Larry Thunborg and his wife Gayleen of Redding, and David Thunborg and his wife Terry of Chico; two brothers, Eugene Thunborg of Dunsmuir and Donald Thunborg of Surprise, Arizona; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Monday, July 26 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel in Mount Shasta, with Pastor Ray Horst officiating. Burial was at the Northern California State Veterans Cemetery in Igo, California.
