Four southern Siskiyou County teams were victorious Friday night, as the Weed Cougars, Mount Shasta Bears and Dunsmuir Tigers all won football games, while College of the Siskiyous' volleyball team swept Shasta in Redding.

Weed, the only team playing a home game, scored early and often during a 54-0 non-league Homecoming romp over Woodland Christian, a small private school from the Sac-Joaquin Section.

Also playing a non-league game, Dunsmuir held off Westwood's fourth quarter come-from-behind effort and won 40-38 in Westwood. The Tigers improved their overall record to 7-1.

Mount Shasta claimed its first Sacramento Valley League win of the season with a 20-0 victory at University Prep in Redding.

The COS volleyball team, coming off a tough home court loss to Feather River on Wednesday night, defeated Shasta, 25-21, 25-21, 25-15.
