Ronald Forrest Dunlap was born on July 16, 1960 in Redding, California.

When Ron graduated from McCloud High School in 1978, he joined the Navy. Ron was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1984 and returned home to the love of his life, D’Anna Regnani.

On August 2, 1986, Ron and D’Anna married in Mount Shasta, California. Their first daughter, Candice Marie, was born in 1989; and Carlie Ann followed nine years later in 1998. Ron’s wife and daughters were his greatest source of pride and joy.

For 50 years, Ron lived his life with great enthusiasm and an optimism that could not be diminished. In addition to his love of hunting and fishing, Ron enjoyed playing golf, traveling, working on equipment, logging and telling stories.

He was a friend to everyone; and his most outstanding quality was his kind and helpful nature. Ron was always the first in line to lend a hand, a dollar, or a kind word.

Ron’s ability to make people smile and laugh will carry on with friends and family forever.

Ron was taken from his family and friends on January 20, 2011, but he can never be erased from the hearts and minds of his loved ones. Until we meet again, we will keep Ron alive with our memories.

We will remember not how he died, but how he lived. We will remember how he loved his life, his family and his friends. We will remember to honor Ron by following his example.

Join us in a celebration of Ron’s life on Saturday, January 29 at the Anderson Fairgrounds. The celebration begins at 1 p.m. in Fusaro Hall.

In lieu of flowers, make donations payable to the D’Anna Dunlap (Ron Dunlap) Memorial Fund at any Tri-Counties Bank branch, Account No. 265015438.
