For the second year, Mountain Runners is partnering with Siskiyou Arts Council to bring Siskiyou County the July 4th Fun Run/Walk T-Shirt Design Contest.

For the second year, Mountain Runners is partnering with Siskiyou Arts Council to bring Siskiyou County the July 4th Fun Run/Walk T-Shirt Design Contest.

Entries will be taken at the Siskiyou Arts Council Gallery & Cultural Center, 418 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd., between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 14 to 18.

Siskiyou County artists submitting their work during those five days must be prepared to completely fill out the entry form and pay a non-refundable $5 submission fee per entry. Two submissions maximum per artist.

Entries will be on display for public vote in the gallery Monday, Feb. 21 through Friday, March 4. Three artist jurors will also vote on a winner.

Mountain Runners are the sponsors of the annual July 4th Fun Run/Walk in Mount Shasta.

Walkers and runners register to participate and receive a t-shirt as well as enjoying food and entertainment along the route, including gourmet snacks, jazz choirs, country music bands, individual singers, classical instrumentalists, clowns, magicians, church choirs, belly dancers, cheerleaders, gymnasts and more.

There is a 2-mile walk, a 2-mile run and a 5-mile run, and registered racers and walkers are eligible to win a host of prizes after the race (must be present).
