George Richard Linville died peacefully at his home in Yreka on January 11, 2011 at the age of 97.

He lived all but seven years of his life in Weed, where he worked for several ranches during his teens and later for Long Bell Lumber Company and International Paper Company, from which he retired.

George loved hunting and fishing and visiting with friends and family. He shared incredibly interesting stories, usually filled with humor and lots of laughter. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; a son, Harold Sanders; a grandson and a granddaughter.

Survivors include his sons, George Linville (and Janet) and Dan Linville (and Sondra); daughters, Margie Faria and Corky Longmore (and Gary). He also leaves his sister, Rachel Williams; a brother, Alford Linville; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great, great-grandchildren.
