Elaine Roche Woodard September 27, 1927 - January 31, 2011

Mrs. Elaine Roche Woodard, resident of Fairfield, California, passed away at
the age of 83 on January 31, 2011, of natural causes following a brief illness.

Mrs. Woodard was born on September 27th, 1927, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She
moved to Havana, Cuba as a young child with her family. Her father was in the sugar
business. The family left Havana during the Cuban revolution and moved to Baton
Rouge, Louisiana. Later, she attended Louisiana State University.

At age 19, during summer vacation, she visited her sister in Fairfield, California and met the love of her life, Dwight Woodard. The two were married on June 18th, 1949, and were
together for 58 years until Dwight's death in 2007.

Mrs. Woodard is survived by her two sons, Bob Woodard of San Luis Obispo,
California and Doug Woodard of Vacaville, California. Mrs. Woodard was loved by
many and was known for her kind and caring concern for the people around her. She
has left a legacy of wonderful memories for the hundreds of children who attended
her annual Easter Egg Hunt. She was also well known for her spectacular gardens.

A memorial service was held Thursday, February 10th, 2011, noon, at the Hilton
Hotel in Fairfield, California. The family has requested no flowers or gifts please,
instead, donations to Clausen House, 88 Vernon Street, Oakland, Calif., 94610.
Clausen House does wonderful work for the retarded and Mrs. Woodard was actively
involved in donating and raising funds for this truly special cause.
