Anna Jo Hines, Jo as she liked to be called, was born in Fargo, Texas to Charlie Thomas Mason and Tex Anna Rogers-Mason on May 3, 1916.

She passed away in Redding, California on February 12, 2011. She was the last of a family of 11 brothers and sisters.

Jo married her husband Leon Hines on August 24, 1933 in Olton, Texas. They were married 65 years, until he passed away in October of 1998.

She was a homemaker, quilter and collector of chickens and roosters all of her life.

Jo and Leon had three children: Jolene (Richard) Zanetti of Mount Shasta, California, who passed away in August of 2008; Gene (Pat) Hines of Redding, California; and Marylin (Jerry) Harrington of Lake Shastina, California.

She has seven granddaughters: Diane, Terry, Cindy, Lori, Linda, Julie and Lisa; two step-granddaughters: Sandy and Kathy; 10 great-grandchildren: Jennifer, Christie, Brandee, Justin, Natalie, Molly, Peter, Megan, Kevin and Tyler; four step-great-grandchildren: David, Amanda, Brianna and Luke; four great, great-grandsons: Max, Cameron, Gavin and Remington.
Her great, great-granddaughter Lilly passed away in 2009. Her great-granddaughter Stacy passed away in 2007. Her only grandson Jason passed away in 1989.

Services will be held Thursday, February 17 at 1 p.m. at Hope Community Church, 974 Lassen Lane in Mount Shasta; with a reception afterwards. Family only visitation will be one hour before the service.

A graveside service will be at Mt. Shasta Memorial Park.

We shall all miss her, but we know she’s up in Heaven with all her family.
