Before they wrote “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Evita,” Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice collaborated on “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

The family-friendly musical, directed by College of the Siskiyous music instructor Elaine Schaefer, is being presented in the COS Kenneth W. Ford Theater in Weed for one weekend only, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 25 to 27.

The cast of 30 includes Joseph (played by Cory Coppin), his 11 brothers, his father Jacob (Rick Nixon), the Pharaoh (Philip Engdahl), the palace princesses and guards, the Ishmaelites, and a pseudo Greek Chorus played by the COS Ladies’ Chamber Choir.

Friday and Saturday performances, Feb. 25 and 26, start at 8 p.m. Sunday’s show starts at 3 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased at Village Books in Mount Shasta, Nature’s Kitchen in Yreka, or at the door one-half hour before each performance.
