Paul Hayward Kinkade, a resident of Weed, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on February 17, 2011, following a long illness.

He was 53 years old.

Paul was born in Riverside, California on September 16, 1957.

As a young child, Paul traveled widely with his family, and even lived in Pakistan for a time.

He moved to Siskiyou County in 1967.

Paul worked for Roseburg Forest Products for 28 years, where he performed a wide variety of jobs. For the past five years, he worked as a grinderman.

He was a rockhound and enjoyed gold prospecting, downhill skiing, and home-brewing beer.

Paul was a very gentle and kind person with great wisdom. He dearly loved his grandchildren and doted on all eight of them.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Kinkade of Weed; sons, Paul Kinkade Jr. and wife Skye of Mount Shasta, Matthew Kinkade of Mount Shasta, Karl Alger and wife Konnie of Kingsburg, Russell Edwards and wife Angella of Weed, and Patrick Edwards and wife Jayme of Weed; daughter, Jennifer Shelton and husband Rob of Weed; brothers, Daniel Kinkade and wife Colleen of North Carolina and Scott Kinkade and wife Monica of Shingle Springs; parents, Anne and William Kinkade of Weed; and eight grandchildren.

A private family service was held on Sunday, February 20th.
