James (Jim) Harding went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2011.

He graduated from CA State University Northridge; served a tour of duty in Vietnam; then moved to Siskiyou County where he lived for 38 years.

Jim taught 31 years at Weed Union Elementary School first as a classroom teacher and later as a Title One Reading and ESL teacher. He earned his Master’s degree from Southern Oregon University, Ashland, Oregon.

Jim was a naturalist, conservationist, and hunter who loved and respected God’s outdoors. He especially liked bird hunting and trained his own dogs. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Siskiyou County and traveled northeast for more hunting.

In 2009 he and his wife, Kathryn, moved to Tucson, Arizona to be close to family. He was buried at the Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery near Fort Huachuca.

Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathryn; two sons; and four grandchildren.
