Marjorie W. Sedlock passed away at Shasta View Nursing Center in Weed, California on March 14, 2011, after a long illness. She was 83.

Marge was born in Mount Shasta, California on July 10, 1927 to Floyce Ward Simmonds and George Ernest (Ernie) Simmonds.

She moved to Canton, Ohio, living there for 30 years. She became a cosmetologist and owned her own salon there.

She was married to Stephen Sedlock and returned to Weed after his death. After returning here, she was a caregiver to many in the south county.

Marge loved to grow plants, especially African Violets. She also loved to crochet and embroider, giving her handiwork to her children and grandchildren. Her favorite color was purple, and as such her home was tastefully decorated with that color.

She leaves her two children, Ken (and Dersé) of Portland, Oregon; Pennie (and Fred) Donovan of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Georgia Stapper of Hayward, California and Martha (Marty) (and Ted) Dunn of Mount Shasta; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marge is preceded in death by her husband, Stephan; sisters, Floyce Eizel Hetherington, Sarah “Sally” Simmonds and Elsa Marianne (Anne) Whisnant.
