Norma Spelzini, 89, a resident of Mt. Shasta passed away peacefully at her home on March 20, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Catherine Fabiano and her brother, Frank Fabiano.

She was born in San Francisco on December 1, 1921. She moved with her family to Susanville and Dunsmuir and later at the age of 12, she and her family moved to Mt. Shasta.

She attended Mt. Shasta High School where, over 70 years ago, she met her high school sweetheart, Denzi.

Norma was the owner and proprietor of the Mt. Shasta Liquor Store and it was her great pleasure to meet and work with the public for over 35 years.

She was well known for her great sense of humor. She loved everyone’s children and was famous for her children’s picture gallery posted on the wall behind her store counter.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Denzi Spelzini; daughters Denise Spelzini of Sacramento and Nordeen Spelzini Vader (& husband Doug Vader) of Mt. Shasta.

At her request, no services will be held.

Donations can be made to Mercy Hospice or the charity of choice. Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
