Franklin C Barrett, 45, of Etna, California died at home of natural causes on April 21, 2011. He was a beloved husband and father, a true friend to those who knew him. He treasured his lifelong friendships.

Frank was born in Orange, California and was raised in Mount Shasta.

Frank was a deputy for the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department in Scott Valley. He was dedicated to his job where he held different titles and positions.

He was a K-9 handler and advisor for the department’s Explorer program early in his career. He was a member of the Siskiyou County Interagency Narcotics Task Force prior to being transferred to the detective bureau of the department, where he was assigned major case investigations.

He was a bird hunter, liked to go fishing, and was a member of the Fort Jones Lions Club.

He was loved by, and will be missed by, many.

Frank is survived by his wife, Norma Barrett; sons, Devin M. Franco and Teige C. Barrett; his mother, Marjie Wyett; and other family members in California, Wyoming, Texas, Idaho, Arkansas, Minnesota and New Mexico.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. at the Yreka High School football field in Yreka.

The Frank Barrett Family Memorial Account has been established at the Siskiyou Central Credit Union by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office.
