Wade H. McCollum, a resident of McCloud, California, passed away of natural causes at his home, surrounded by family, on May 19, 2011. He was 91 years old.

Wade was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on October 10, 1919. He moved to Siskiyou County from Westwood, California in 1955.

Wade was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Wade was a superintendent at Cheney Grant Lumber Mill in Pondosa, California. He loved hunting, fishing and woodworking. His way of fixing items was artistic.

Wade was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Betty McCollum; son, Michael McCollum of South Lake Tahoe, California; daughters, Kathleen Gardner of McCloud, California, Vicki Brenna of Gold Hill, Oregon, and Julie O’Hare of Santa Rosa, California; sister, Virginia Miner of Reno, Nevada; 22 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
