Ethel Isabelle Eiler Johnson passed away on May 11, 2011. Ethel was born to Harry and Ethel Marsh in Grants Pass, Oregon on July 16, 1911. She later moved to Dunsmuir, California where she attended school.

She married Robert Byrnes Eiler in 1932. They owned and operated People’s Market in Mount Shasta.

In 1941 they moved to Gazelle, California where they established and operated Pacific Packing Company, a wholesale meat packing business until Mr. Eiler’s death in 1972.

She then moved to Yreka where she met and married Kenneth Johnson in 1977. He passed away in 1995."

She was active in the Order of Eastern Star serving as Worthy Matron and Deputy Grand Matron of Eastern Star, and in 1967 she served as Grand Treasurer of the State of California OES. She was also a past president of Yreka Nile Club No. 11.

She leaves one son, Robert E. Eiler of Grants Pass, Oregon; a stepson, Dr. Ladd Johnson and wife Kyle of Quebec, Canada; and a stepdaughter, Peggy Johnson of Yreka, California.

She also leaves a granddaughter, Sharon Milan and husband Mitch of Kauai, Hawaii; two grandsons, Robert E. Eiler, Jr. and wife Jeanette of Anderson California, and Bill Eiler and wife Corina of Fort Jones, California.

She also leaves three step-grandchildren, Noah, Malena and Torbin Johnson; and nine great-grandchildren, Megan Duell, Alex and Christopher Milan, Eric Eiler, Stephanie Rider, Samantha Eiler, and Katie, Jessica, and Danielle Eiler.

She leaves a sister-in-law, Mary Marsh who lives in Rocklin, California.

Her brothers, Harry A. March passed away in 2005 and John A. Marsh passed away in 2010. A sister, Eloise Crocker, passed away in 1995.

There will be a celebration of life on Thursday, July 14 at the Mt. Shasta cemetery mausoleum.
