Jack Calvin Coulter, a longtime resident of Dunsmuir, California passed away on July 9, 2011, at the age of 86.

Jack was born on March 1, 1925 to Elmer and Rachel Coulter of Wheaton, Kansas. He moved to Siskiyou County in 1947 from Gerber, California.

Jack worked for Southern Pacific Railroad on the signal gang. He was an excellent auto mechanic and worked for Don Stewart Dodge of Dunsmuir, Tom Chevrolet of Dunsmuir, Ralph Rodley Ford of Dunsmuir, Mallory Chevrolet of Weed, and Chamberlain Chevrolet of Weed – spanning a career of 45 years.

Jack was the Dunsmuir tow-truck driver and taxi driver; and had a lot of friends.

Jack was a member of the Dunsmuir Methodist Church; and Dunsmuir Rod and Gun Club. He was very active and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking; and built most of his own home and garage.

He is survived by his son, Rodney Coulter of Dunsmuir; daughter, Diana Coulter-Kuklok of St. Cloud, Minnesota; sister, Florence McClury of Redding, California; and granddaughter, Amber Kuklok of St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Jack was predeceased by his wife Faith, earlier this year.
