Mount Shasta won its sixth straight Shasta Cascade League soccer championship Thursday in Fall River, now the Bears and Weed Cougars are both scheduled to play opening round games Tuesday, Oct. 25, in the End of the Season tournament.


Mount Shasta (13-2-2 overall), the No. 3 seed, will host No. 6 Trinity at 4 p.m. while No. 7 Weed (3-6-4) plays at No. 2 Tulelake. The winners of those two games will play Thursday at the home of the highest seed.


Other first round games have No. 1 Quincy hosting No. 8 Squaw Valley and No. 4 Fall River hosting No. 5 Redding.


The championship game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m.


Weed's soccer team tied Modoc, 4-4, Tuesday of last week, then lost its final regular season game to Trinity, 5-0, Thursday in Weed.

-- Weed volleyball defeated Burney, 3-0, Oct. 20, after losing in Modoc, 3-1.


-- College of the Siskiyous volleyball lost Oct. 19 at Feather River, 3-1.


-- Mount Shasta's JV volleyball remained undefeated with wins over Etna and Fall River.


-- The Siskiyous Knights Pop Warner teams played their final home games Oct. 22, with the Unlimited team winning, 40-6, and the Pee Wees losing, 34-24.
