A little more than a week from the 101st birthday of her husband Harold, Cornelia Kuiper went to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 20, 2011 surrounded by many of her children and grandchildren.

She would have been 101 in January, the month she and Harold would have celebrated their 79th wedding anniversary. They have always attributed their marital longevity to the grace of God working through Jesus Christ in their lives.

Born in Iowa in 1911 ‘Connie’ as Harold and many others called her, was the third of eight children born to John Roskamp, a champion pig farmer, inventor and manufacturer of oat hullers and corn grinders, and his saintly wife Mary.

With Harold she has a total of 62 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

For years they had a ministry of entertaining the ‘old folks,’ as they called them, at Laurel Crest Manor or Mercy’s Care Center – she on the piano, he with his harmonica. They were older than most of the patients!  They also had a long-running Bible study in their former home in Mount Shasta.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Cornelia to Mercy Hospice Mt. Shasta, 914 Pine Street, Mount Shasta, CA 96067.
