Ray Pratt of Eugene, Oregon died October 5, 2011 of age-related causes at age 87.

Ray was born July 10, 1924 in Fort Casey, Washington to Neil and Esther Arvidson Pratt.
He married Elsie Dietrick on October 9, 1948 in Dunsmuir, California.

Ray served in the Army during World War II and landed with the First Infantry Division on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 42 years, including as a claims agent from 1964 until his retirement in 1984.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie; daughter, Janice Shelby of Portland; son, Tom of Eugene; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A son, Robert, died in 1978.

Private entombment will be at Mt. Shasta Memorial Park in Mount Shasta.
