Bennie Jo Middleton, a resident of Weed, California, passed away on October 23, 2011 at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding. She was 79 years old.

Bennie Jo was born in Swink, Oklahoma on May 7, 1932. She moved to Siskiyou County 31 years ago.

Bennie Jo worked as a cook. She enjoyed gardening, doting on her grandchildren, and spending time with her family.

She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Yreka.

Bennie Jo is survived by three sons, James Middleton of Yuba City, Roy Middleton of Grants Pass, Oregon and Earl Middleton of Shelton, Washington; two daughters, Linda Odle of Shelton, Washington and Roxann Anzo of Weed; brothers, Robert Clark of Purcell, Oklahoma and Thomas Clark of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; sisters, Jane Scott of Howe, Oklahoma and Opal Ellison of Van Buran, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Middleton; son, David Middleton; and daughter, Reatha Emery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel in Mount Shasta.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 28 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel. Burial is at Mt. Shasta Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bennie Jo to Victims of Violent Crimes.
