As the wind howled and the earth shook in the early hours of November 23, 2011, Sierra Diane Wynant left this world for the next.

Sierra entered this world in Klamath Falls, Oregon on December 18, 1981. She was an early Christmas present for parents Howard and Karen Wynant.

Sierra grew up with family and friends in Butte Valley. She graduated from Butte Valley High School in 2000, and has taken several courses at College of the Siskiyous since to present day.

On January 24, 2004, Sierra gave this world the gift of a daughter, Mckenzie Mae Crawford. As a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend, Sierra lived each day with love in her heart, and loved those around her unconditionally.

Sierra defined herself as a student of life, always learning. Sierra expressed her life lessons as a passionate writer, who gained inspiration through her love of the outdoors, music, and the love that surrounded her.

Sierra will forever be missed by her surviving family – parents, Howard and Karen Wynant; daughter, Mckenzie Crawford; brother, Matt Wynant; sister-in-law, Joanna Wynant; nephew, Chace Wynant; grandparents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sierra was preceded in death by her only true love and the father of their daughter, Jesse.

A potluck will be held in Sierra’s honor on Friday, December 2 at noon at the Weed Berean Church, 750 South Main Street (downstairs) in Weed.

Contributions can be sent to PO Box 34, Macdoel, CA 96058.

Arrangements are in the care of Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel.
