Siskiyou County Supervisor Michael Kobseff is disbanding his exploratory campaign committee for the California First Assembly District.

“After much consideration, thought, and soul searching I have come to the decision that it was just not the right time in my life to run for higher office,” Kobseff states in a Jan. 26, 2012 press release. “I have also looked over the field of candidates and have decided the best individual for the job is Lassen County Supervisor Brian Dahle. He has my confidence and endorsement and will best serve the north state as our next assemblyman.”

A two-term supervisor representing Siskiyou County's District 3, which includes Weed, Lake Shastina, Grenada, and parts of Mount Shasta, Kobseff said he will continue to serve. "There is much work to be done here at home and the need is great to continue to help my community from the elected position I hold today,” he said.
