A big rig making a right hand turn from Lake Street onto Mt. Shasta Boulevard knocked over a stoplight and damaged a second traffic signal Thursday afternoon.

The big rig’s driver did not stop after the incident, but continued driving south on Mt. Shasta Boulevard, according to the Mount Shasta Police Department.

A Mount Shasta Police officer was able to identify the driver and pulled him over a few minutes after the incident, according to MSPD dispatch.

Public Works personnel set the intersection signals to flashing red and put up emergency cones for safety around the downed pole, which crashed into the Shambhala Center’s sign. Mt. Shasta Electric has been called, and they’re working to get the light repaired, dispatch said.

No one was hurt in the incident.
