Casey Whirl, 32 of Mount Shasta, was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 16 along with two other suspects: Paul “Flacco” Bledsoe, 21 of W. Va. and Kristen “Mystery” Hill, 36 of Mich. The three were charged with kidnapping a 44 year old male from a Mount Shasta residence, beating him and leaving him injured at the park, said Mount Shasta Police Department officer Robert Gibson.
Each were held on $100,000 bail; Bledsoe and Hill made bail and were released from Siskiyou County Jail on Friday, Oct. 19. Whirl was bailed out on Saturday, Oct. 20.
Later on Oct. 20, the MSPD responded to a medical call at Whirl’s Ski Village residence, and at approximately 10:30 p.m. Whirl died at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding, confirmed a spokesperson at the Shasta County Coroner’s office.
The cause of Whirl’s death was not yet available on Tuesday morning.
Whirl, along with Bledsoe and Hill, were charged with kidnapping, felony battery with great bodily injury and conspiracy to commit a crime in connection with an incident that took place in Mount Shasta last week, said Jayme Lynch, spokesperson for the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department.
