Anna Marie Burns, a lifelong resident of Mount Shasta, California, passed away on October 9, 2012. She was 56 years old.

Anna was born in Yreka, California on June 26, 1956 to Robert and Sarah Burns (Dillard).

Anna worked as a telephone operator for a local answering service for 14 years.

Anna was a very outgoing, independent woman who would always tackle big projects herself instead of relying on others – a real “fix-it lady.”

She dearly loved her family and especially enjoyed babysitting her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great, great-nieces and great, great-nephews.

Anna was interested in family genealogy, woodworking and gardening. She had a tender heart for animals and loved her pets.

Anna is survived by her mother, Sarah Dillard of Mount Shasta, California; father, Robert Burns; sister, Marjorie Kesterson of Mount Shasta, California; sister, Roberta Samard of Albany, Oregon; sister, Lucille Hurd of Kennoweth, Washington; sister, Debbie Burns of Sparks, Nevada; brother, Richard Burns of Redding, California; brother, Gilbert Burns of Redding, California; brother, Raymond Burns of Redding, California; brother, Thomas Burns of Hayfork, California; brother, Robert Burns of Reno, Nevada; brother, R.C. Dillard of Mount Shasta, California; brother, Jack Dillard of The Dalles, Oregon; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Anna was predeceased by her brothers, Clyde Dillard and Jim Dillard.

A memorial service for Anna will be held on Friday, November 2 at 1 p.m. at Hope Community Church, 974 Lassen Lane in Mount Shasta.

The family was assisted by Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel.
