Morgan Owens kept the goal for 60 minutes for the Bears and Jarrod Althaus-Cressman for 20. They each scored while the other was guarding the net.

Mount Shasta blanked Butte Valley, 4-0, in the penultimate 2012 regular season soccer game Tuesday in Dorris, and the two Bears who played goalie also scored goals.


Butte Valley had just 2 shots on goal, and everybody on Mount Shasta's roster saw playing time, "which is huge for the younger players and their growth," coach Bradly Robinson said.

Carlos Lopez and Brighton Loughlin also had goals for the Bears.


Kevin Lakin, Christine Holst, and Skylar Loughlin had assists.


Mount Shasta, which has allowed a Shasta Cascade League-low 9 goals for the entire season, improved to 8-1-4 in league and 12-2-4 overall. The Bears are second behind league champion Tulelake (12-0-1 and 14-3-3), which won at Weed on Tuesday, 2-1.


Up next for Mount Shasta is the final home game of the season Thursday against Etna (2-10-1 and 2-12-1).
