8 girls teams and 6 boys teams will play 21 games in three days at Robert E. Novo Gymnasium.

Mount Shasta's 2012 Holiday Basketball Tournament will feature eight varsity girls and six varsity boys teams Dec. 6, 7 and 8 in Mount Shasta High School's Robert E. Novo Gymnasium.

Twenty-one games are scheduled to be played from 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 until 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

A three-point competition is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on Dec. 7, and an awards ceremony will follow the girls championship game at approximately 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8.

The girls teams – Mount Shasta, Weed, Central Valley, Fall River, Yreka, Del Norte, Biggs and Ft. Bragg – will play a standard double-elimination tournament.

Each of the six boys teams – Mount Shasta, Yreka, Mazama, Hidden Valley, Willows and Durham – will play three games that have been scheduled in advance.

Keith Morris of the Mount Shasta High School Boosters, which puts on the tournament, said the boys schedule was adapted so it would be possible for Bears varsity and JV boys head coach Cliff Blakely to also make his JV games in Etna.
