The Easter Bunny might get wet this weekend
The good news: a low pressure system is expected to push warm air into the Mt. Shasta area this weekend. The bad news, according to a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service, is the warmer temperatures may also lead to thunderstorms.
Saturday's temperatures are likely to reach the warmest values we've seen this year, the NWS states. However, heavier showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected Saturday afternoon and into the evening. It looks like the Easter Bunny might get wet.
"Those camping or planning outdoor activities should be on the lookout for rapidly deteriorating conditions," according to the statement.
According to the NWS 7-day forecast, rain is possible every day until Monday. The low pressure system will be pushing in a northeast direction. Significant rain amounts are expected in northern California and southern Oregon.
