Mrs. Kenneth Lee Green, a resident of Weed, California, passed away on April 14, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta. She was 86 years old.
She was born in Rapids Parish, Louisiana on January 20, 1927 and was affectionately reared by Mary Sanders. She moved to Siskiyou County from Louisiana in 1946.
She was a homemaker and the wife of Senior Pastor Reverend Jessie Green of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mt. Shasta American Legion Auxiliary, and Eastern Star.
She volunteered with Christ Lutheran Care Center Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, and was First Lady of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in McCloud.
Survivors include her son, Reverend Stacey Green of Weed; daughters, Cynthia Peterson of Richmond and Mary E. Ellis of Sylmar; brothers, Leroy Hardison of Seattle, Washington and Eugene Hardison of Spokane, Washington; sisters, Frances Smith of Cleveland, Ohio, Joanna Buchanan of Seattle, Washington, Dolores Ward of Sylmar and Maude Jimison of Renton, Washington; and sister-in-law, Paula Hendon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Jessie Green; brother, Thomas Hardison; sister, Aplis Faibvre; and grandson, Michael Peterson
Visitation will take place on Friday, April 26 from noon to 4 p.m. at Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Mount Shasta with Reverend Ronnie Herrell officiating. Burial is at Mt. Shasta Memorial Park.
