Dunsmuir, California native Doreen Joyce (McDonald) Davis, born on December 23, 1936, passed from this life on June 3, 2013 in La Quinta, California.

Doreen is survived by her husband, Robert Davis of La Quinta; a son, Randy Reigel (and Rita) of Florence, South Carolina; a daughter, Jackie Scioli (and Mike) of Clovis, New Mexico; a sister, Jacqui Moore (and Ernie) of Victorville, California; four grandchildren: Rebecca Barfield, David Scott, William Scott, and Christopher Scioli; and four great-grandchildren: Kaylee Reigel, Tegan Scott, Jason Scioli and Matthew Scioli.

Doreen was involved with friends of the library in both Dunsmuir and La Quinta, where she was the librarian at both locations and other locations throughout Siskiyou County and central California.

She was active with the Adult Literacy Program, enjoyed reading, crochet, quilting, leather crafting, and black powder cap and ball muzzle loaders. She also worked at Space Systems Loral in Palo Alto, California from 1987 to 1992.

She attended Dunsmuir Elementary and Dunsmuir High School; and she received her Associate’s degree from College of the Siskiyous in Weed, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary McDonald; stepmother, Lillie McDonald of Dunsmuir, California; infant son, William George Reigel; and sister, Helen L. (McDonald) Waguman.
