She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert McGowan; and her daughter-in-law, Nancy McGowan.

She loved raising her family in Mount Shasta after which she lived in Redding for 37 years. She enjoyed being with family, cooking, knitting and playing golf.

In later years, after her family was grown, she was the “Grand Central Station” of their annual trek to Mount Shasta for their Fourth of July gatherings / camping extravaganzas. She loved having the grandchildren and great-grandchildren stop by on such occasions, and would prepare wonderful meals for them.

After she had made all the sweaters, hats and afghans that her family could ever want she went on to knit countless baby blankets and donated them to the babies at Redding Memorial Hospital. She was an avid golfer through her 88th year.

She was loved by all who knew her and she will be missed by her family every day.

She was interred at McDonald mortuary in Redding in a private ceremony witnessed by her three children.
