Logging competitions, sports, a downtown parade, live entertainment, the Li'l Miss Fiesta and Mr. Logger contest, and much more are on the schedule July 26-28 in McCloud.

Hoo Hoo Park will take on a party-like atmosphere with the 66th annual McCloud Lumberjack Fiesta this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The event includes live entertainment, a parade on Main Street, the Li'l Miss Fiesta and Mr. Logger contests, logging competitions, horseshoe tournament, softball tournament, vendors, food, kids activities, a watermelon eating contest, a dance contest and more.

Visitors are asked to keep their pets at home. There will be service animals at the park, as well as a vendor with rescue animals; dogs should not be brought to the park, according to the Mccloud Community Recreation Council, which sponsors Fiesta.


Signups for the 'Lil Logger and Miss Fiesta are Thursday, July 25 at 6 p.m. both days at Hoo Hoo park. Children old enough to walk through age seven are eligible.

All children who can commit to being in the parade on Saturday the 27th are welcome to compete.

The dance contest on Friday, July 26 is open to kids up to age 16.

The Papa Anderson Memorial Softball Tournament is set to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and music, provided by Wildwoman Sounds, will go until midnight.

On Saturday, July 27, the American Legion Cheula Post #92 will provide a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. and vendor booths open at 8 a.m., at the same time the softball tourney picks up again.

At 11 a.m. on Saturday, the 'Lil Miss Fiesta and 'Lil Logger will ride in the parade on Main Street. This year's parade grand marshal is Geeia Dexter.

Trophies will be awarded immediately following the parade at Hoo Hoo Park.

The Harold Benedict Memorial Horseshoe Tournament for singles will begin at 1 p.m. and the Junior Axe Throw competition starts at 1 p.m.

The Blackwell Brothers will play at the park from 8 p.m. until midnight.

On Sunday, July 28, the American Legion will again host a pancake breakfast, the same hours as the day before. Vendors and softball again begin at 8 a.m.

A doubles horseshoe tourney will begin at 11 a.m. and the Adult Amateur Logging Show starts at noon. A watermelon eating contest will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
