Authorities are searching for two men who are “persons of interest” in a Yreka stabbing incident.
Peter Brennan, 36 of Yreka, and John Lightle, 23 of Hornbrook, are being sought for questioning, said Siskiyou County Sheriff’s spokesperson Allison Giannini.
The men should be considered “armed and dangerous” and if they are observed, “no attempt to contact them should be made,” said Sheriff Jon Lopey. Instead, the reporting party should call 911, he said.
On Saturday morning, Sept. 7, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle in the departmental parking lot, Giannini said. The passenger of the vehicle reported he was assaulted and stabbed by two men at a home on the 4900 block of Pruett Drive in Yreka, Giannini said.
After investigation, deputies “reasonably substantiated that a crime had occurred” and identified Brennan and Lightle as persons of interest in the case, Giannini said.
“The deputies in this case did an excellent job investigating this case and identifying the persons of interest, both of whom may be connected to this attack and attempted murder incident,” said Lopey. He asked those with information about the two men to call the 24-hour dispatch number at 841-2900.
