Alfred Stanley Peckham was born in Southampton, England on August 11, 1930. He came over to the United States by ship when he was 15 years old.

He arrived in Washington State where he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While he was stationed in Korea he became a US citizen, and was transferred to El Toro, California where he met his wife Gayla on the Long Beach Pike.

After four years of service with the USMC he was discharged and joined the Los Angeles Police Department where he served and protected the citizens of Los Angeles, California for 20 years.

After retiring from the police department he and his wife Gayla moved to Mount Shasta, California where they built their home, made great friends, and spent many years fishing and enjoying life together.

As he aged, his heart started to fail him and he and Gayla moved to Moreno Valley, California so their daughter Violet could be close to them.

After five years living in Moreno Valley, he passed away on September 16, 2013.

Alfred is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gayla; his daughter, Violet; his daughter’s best friend, Leslye, who he thought of and treated like a daughter; and his two dogs, Peppy and Missy.

Alfred was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
