Pharmacy Express inside Ray’s Food Place in Mount Shasta will soon be closed.

Pharmacy Express inside Ray’s Food Place in Mount Shasta will soon be closed.

The store’s parent company, C&K Market, Inc., said they plan to “strengthen operations” by focusing on its core business of operating grocery stores.

The closure should be final by mid-November.

Another local pharmacy will be purchasing the prescriptions currently handled by Pharmacy Express. Grant Lunde, spokesperson for C&K, said he can’t disclose the buyer yet.

The company acquiring the prescriptions have “expressed interest” in interviewing the seven employees who currently work at Pharmacy Express, Lunde said.

It’s not yet known what will be done with the corner of the store that’s been occupied by a pharmacy for more than 10 years, said Lunde.

C&K owns 15 pharmacies that operate as Pharmacy Express, Tiffany’s Drugs, and Chetco Pharmacy & Gifts in communities in southern Oregon and northern California.

“Personally, I want to thank our pharmacy customers for their business over the years, as well as extend my appreciation to our pharmacy employees who have provided responsive, helpful service and worked hard on our behalf,” said Gregory Sandeno, president of C&K Market, in a press release.
