Jeff was a 4th generation railroader who lived his lifelong dream of owning and operating his own railroad when he purchased the McCloud Railway Company in 1992.

Jeffrey Eldon Forbis of Diamond Bar, CA passed peacefully on May 13, 2016 and is now with our Father in Heaven. He spent his final days surrounded by his family and his beloved wife Natalie.

Jeff was born on September 22, 1950 to Eldon and Betty Forbis in Westfir, Oregon. He graduated from University of Oregon and began his career in railroading in Eugene, Oregon before moving to Mt Shasta in 1987 to take a job with the McCloud River Railroad Company.

Jeff was a 4th generation railroader who lived his lifelong dream of owning and operating his own railroad when he purchased the McCloud Railway Company in 1992. He loved living in Mt Shasta and spent much of his free time hiking and kayaking in the beautiful mountains and lakes. He was also very generous of his time and resources to the community and people that he loved.

He loved his family and friends and enjoyed his time with them, he felt what mattered most in life was how you treat those that you are blessed to know and meet. He enjoyed traveling and meeting new people in his adventures that spanned the globe.

Jeff is survived by his soulmate and wife, Natalie Forbis; Daughter Jalene Forbis, Daughter and Son-in-Law Elisa and Alfey Bearden, Son and Daughter-in-Law Troy and Melanie Forbis, Daughter and Son-in-Law Candice and Shawn Cardelli, Stepson David Tran and Stepdaughters Kimberly and Michelle Tran. Nine precious Grandchildren: Tye Andrews, Travis Andrews, Kara Forbis, Kalene Pride, Kendra Pride, Madisson Diaz, Levi Cardelli, Cohen Cardelli and Zayne Cardelli, Brother Rob Forbis, Sister Karen Glover and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his Father Eldon Forbis, Mother Betty Forbis and Sister Kathy Tuttle.
