A National Weather Service Flood Watch warns Siskiyou and Modoc County residents of possible flooding Saturday night through Sunday caused by heavy rain combining with melting snow.
Two the 3 inches of rain is forecast in the Mt. Shasta area from late Jan. 7 through the evening Jan. 8.
NWS warns that landslides and debris flows are possible, as well as clogged storm drains and culverts. People, structures and roads located below steep slopes, in canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk from rapidly moving landslides. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action.
