Michael Charles Del Nero passed away peacefully in his sleep January 6, 2017 at his home in Sacramento, California. He was 69 years old.

Michael was born in McCloud, California to Mike and Nellie Del Nero May 25, 1947. He was raised in Weed, California; graduating from Weed High School in 1965.

He graduated from College of the Siskiyous with his AA degree in Business in 1967. He also attended Chico State majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He was always an excellent student and always enjoyed interacting with people and making new friends.

Michael began working in Sacramento for Monroe Calculator Company in 1969 and later Sweda International, both divisions of Litton Industries. In 1976 he began working for ECR Systems calling on retail and industrial accounts.

In 1986 he began working for Golden Eagle where he remained until 2008. He was Territory Manager covering the Bay Area, Hawaii and Guam. Because of his great ability to interact with people, he maintained status as Number One Salesman throughout his employment.

Michael enjoyed sporting events, especially following the Giants from the time he was young, and he loved attending many SF 49er games with his good friends. He loved playing cards and was always ready to play pinochle or poker.

Michael loved traveling and was fortunate enough to take several trips to many countries each year. He made friends throughout the world, keeping in touch with many of them, and even coming to visit him.

When they visited, he loved to bring them home to Weed to show them the mountain and the area’s beauty. But he loved spending time with his family and dear friends the most.

Michael is survived by his mother, Nellie Del Nero; sister, Karen (Norm) Dettman; niece, Kimberly Dettman; many cousins and many, many dear friends.

He was kind, gentle, caring, funny, intelligent and loving. He will truly be missed.

Services will be held Friday, February 24 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Mount Shasta, California at noon. Reception immediately following.
